Last last Friday, we went on a field trip to a Science Museum and the 9/21 Earthquake Museum in Taichung. The Science Museum was sort of boring, unfortunately.
Everyone who was coming met at the basketball court at about 7:30am. Everyone had a partner and was supposed to stick with them no matter what, even to the bathroom! My partner was Karina, Sunny was with Victoria, Angelica was with Vickie, and Elysia was with Areta. Victoria was really late, so late that Sunny started panicking that the bus would leave and she'd have no partner. Okay, I'm probably exaggerating a bit too much, but you get how late Victoria was now, right? Luckily, she turned up at the last minute, just when the bus was starting to close the doors. By that time, most of us had had already opened our Nintendo, I-pods, Game Boys, I-touch, and so on. Everyone was saying " Victoria!!!".and she was just laughing. It was sort of funny, in a way. We had a loooong trip on the bus. To pass time, most of us slept, played DS, or, possibly, watched the movie Sherlock Holmes that the science teacher ,Mr. Eduard, put on the TV screens that were on the the bus. I played Nintendo, Pokemon Diamond that Jerry let me borrow. When we finally got there, the first thing most of us, including me, did was go to the bathroom. When we got out, most of the people were already gone. Our group-Emily Ha, Angela(I think), Joy, Anne, Karina and me(of course)- and Ms. Savanna, the 6B Homeroom teacher and also the adult that was assigned to us for a group leader, hurried over to the earthquake museum to catch up with the others. We then spent about 3 boring hours wandering around the museum.
For lunch, we had to get onto the bus and drive to the science museum. I had enough time to play a little Nintendo and then we had to get off the bus. For lunch, we had the choice of McDonald's or a noodle shop. My entire group chose McDonald's, obviously, and all of us headed off in the direction that a sign next to us said. Then we met another sign that pointed in another direction! After making a bunch of circles and finding signs pointing anywhere, even at the wall, we asked some workers who all kept pointing in different directions! It was so weird. We also found another bunch of people who were going to McDonald's, but couldn't find it. After a long long time and a lot of wasted searching, we made it to McDonald's. I ordered French fries and sat down at an empty table to eat those, the sandwich I brought, and the little snacks I also brought as dessert. Karina had a cheeseburger with nothing in it except the cheese and meat. After lunch was over, our group joined up with another group and together, we wandered around the museum, looking at the exhibits. It was really boring.
The best part about the entire field trip, was the gift shop. It was AWESOME. I guess I do like shopping, sometimes, when it goes my way which, basically, equals: no clothes or boring shops like a place where you look at car stuff or fuel or... Anyway, the gift shop had all these smooth, shiny stones, and fluffy dolls, and dinosaurs, and jewelery, and all these really nice stuff. I wanted to buy something for everyone in my family so I started choosing what would be nice, but not too expensive, and something they'd like. That part was hard. I knew Mom would like jewelery; Dad always likes anything that includes golf, computer or car stuff; Jerry likes dinosaurs, Magic, Pokemon, or Naruto; and I like stuffed animals, beads, and stuff like that. Eventually, I got a little dinosaur for Jerry, a key chain for Dad, a sort of expensive necklace for Mom's Mother's Day gift, and a stuffed bear, that was actually a piggy bank, for me.
The field trip was sort of boring, but it was fun to go to the gift shop and miss school.
